SHARE Although studying creativity is considered a legitimate scientific discipline nowadays, it is still a very young one. In the early s, a psychologist named J. Guilford was one of the first academic researchers who dared to conduct a study of creativity. He challenged research subjects to connect all nine dots using just four straight lines without lifting their pencils from the page. Today many people are familiar with this puzzle and its solution. In the s, however, very few were even aware of its existence, even though it had been around for almost a century. If you have tried solving this puzzle, you can confirm that your first attempts usually involve sketching lines inside the imaginary square. The correct solution, however, requires you to draw lines that extend beyond the area defined by the dots. Only 20 percent managed to break out of the illusory confinement and continue their lines in the white space surrounding the dots.

Maria Del Russo As much as I love sharing my dating stories, there are a lot of experiences that I haven’t had. This week, I spoke with Mel , a year-old woman living in Australia. Tell me about yourself, Mel. And then my parents moved to the United Arab Emirates when I was, like, 13 or 14, so I lived between there and Australia for the next 20 years.

The truth is kind of fuzzy when it comes to the networks’ ratings claims. Channel Ten Time-shifting has been around since VCRs arrived in the late s but wasn’t included in viewer numbers until “consolidated” ratings were introduced in — allowing for viewers who watch recorded broadcast programs within the next seven days. This now accounts for around 10 per cent of all viewing.
Now the five major free-to-air broadcasters and Foxtel have thrown their support behind OzTam’s new Video Player Measurement VPM report, which offers a rolling seven-day list of the most-popular catch up programs from each network. Online catch up already accounts for around two per cent of all television viewing, a figure which climbs much higher for some genres. In the first few days of the new catch up ratings system, the most popular shows for the five networks are:
Seven. Aussie Lobster Men (reality –); Australian Gangster (Seven Network drama –); Between Two Worlds (Seven Network drama –); Extreme Weddings (Seven Network –); Ms Fisher’s MODern Murder Mysteries (Seven Network drama –); The Proposal (Seven Network reality –); Secret Bridesmaids’ Business (Seven Network drama –); The Super Switch (Seven Network.
We have no right to question how Aboriginal they are or how affected they are or how much they are reaping in these so called big benefits you are talking about. It is a fact that Indigenous Australians have been disadvantaged ever since the English arrived. Here’s a brief history: The stolen generation saw families torn apart and created wounds that still have not healed. Imagine your grandmother was stolen from her mother.
She was then placed with a white family who were allowed to treat her however they pleased Aboriginal people were not citizens of this country until — they were essentially treated as objects without legal status. Or she was sent to a Christian-run school for Aboriginal girls where she was physically and sexually abused until she was old enough to leave. What do you think happens to a person who is taken from their mother at the age of 5?
Do you think they learn how to function well in society? How to nuture or care for their children?
Matthew Keenan and Robbie McEwen will take over the main call. Below is a sample of some of those irked by the decision. A Certain Magical Index: Within a space of roughly three seconds, she correctly identifies the history, style, and everything else about a giant rock monster that had just appeared. She later composes and sings a magical “song” that has the effect of deprogramming a living person’s mind and breaking the mental conditioning they’re under, after talking a bit with Misaka about the theory of subconscious learning through synesthesia a confirmed scientific phenomenon in the Raildex verse.
She does have , magical books stored in her head that she can draw on for data, but she still needs to be able to sort through all that information, analyze it, and determine how to use that knowledge. Espers, no matter their powers, have to calculate and know what they’re going to do, before they do it. Both Kuroko and Awaki need to calculate what they’re going to teleport and where using eleventh dimension mathematics, not three-dimensional length, width, height mathematics.
Accelerator, for all he won the Superpower Lottery , still needs to know exactly how to apply his powers in order to get what he wants, eg, if he wants to stomp his foot and create a giant shockwave of doom, he can’t just stomp and expect it to work, he has to know how to actually magnify, direct, and otherwise manipulate the force of his foot stomping the ground. If he can’t work out the math behind an application of his powers, he can’t use it.
In short, The Raildex universe is an entire world of this:
