November 22 – November 29, Location: We love Corps of Engineers Campgrounds and I found this one as a good stop on our way to Florida for the winter. Wooded campground with finger “loops” jutting out into Strom Thurmond Lake, a huge Corps of Engineers project lake. Many of the 69 sites are waterfront and most of those that aren’t have lake views. The campground sits back off U. Hwy , so road noise isn’t bad. However, train tracks parallel Hwy , so there is occasional train noise, though not too bad.

Right on the water. Down side, can’t swim. Some kind of bacteria in the water and swimming not recommended. There were not many instructions or directions when you check in you are kind of left on your own. We make sure to check and that there are shower and laundry facilities everywhere we stop as we travel in a 15′ travel trailer.
When we arrived I did not see laundry or bathrooms and there was no map of the park. I saw that one reviewer said there wasn’t any facilities, there actually are. The laundry is in the area where the mobile homes are in a small white building and the bath house is on the other side of the beach it is your basic beach bathroom, clean but not fancy.

The staff in the office is very friendly and accommodating. Along with all the maintenance workers. All the sites have a cement pad, the laundry was great, newer washers and dryers. We don’t use the bath house so I can’t tell you how it is. Basketball courts were nice. Every night we saw a lot of deer roaming around.
